Content: I inclose here in the monthly statments also cash statements for the month of august which I hope you will find correct I also beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of 28 July which I recieved here in the last of August. I will use clay As per your instructions as far as possible Indian debts I have given very little advances outside bear claws + ammunition. Hudons Hope Taylor has not yet arieved from the crossing but I expect him here in a few days. Some miners passing by Hudson's Hope. Post This summer broke in to the H.B. store and helped themselves to some provisions I met them on their way out and took one of their black horses as payment as it was the only way they they having no other means of paying.
