Entry Date: 1909-03-22
Content: WTL Dear sir I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of 12th and 30th January also 11th February which I received a short time ago I am glad to see by your letters that their is a slight advance in fur price I shall endeavour to get all the lynx + foxes I will try my best to get as much but lynx are scarce up here and hard to get I went down to Duvegan with the packet and and just got back yesterday it was a hard trip of ten days as the snow is about 2 feet up on the River I made the round trip in 11 days. I got a fairly good haull of furs on my way up from one of our Indians and all on account of his help. I am not starting out north to see the Indians I have just heard that a number of them are suffering from starvation the wolves are so thick up north that they driving out the moose which makes it hard for the indians to make a living and trap as well I have not heard from Hudons Hope for some time but expect taylor down here soon. Yours faithfully F
