Frank Beaton and the Fort St. John Fur Trade

Entry Date: 1909-03-04
Content: W.T.L Dear I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of the 14th October also 1st and 20th of December which I received her a month ago but had no opportunity of answering it before this. I am sorry to say by the balance sheet of the loss this post made last year. the only way I can account for it is the high prices paid for furs I had to pay the price or lose the furs. The advances to Indians last year was certainly to much but I expect them to have made a much better catch of furs they did I expect and hope that they will pay up this year as furs are more plentiful out north then last year I will endeavour to do my best for the interest of the company I remain your obedient servant FWB
