Febr 27 [written in back/right margin] Our mines will work only three or four days – the weather being so mild very little coal is needed. Several miners have left already for Montana. March 14 [written in back/right margin]
Father VanTighem has been suffering for these three last weeks from rheumatism, and the Rev.& Father Fouquet has arrived, last night, from Calgary to remain in Lethbridge until Easter.
News from St. Albert and Edmonton announces that our good Bishop is ill also; while Father Leduc has a bad attack of inflammatory rheumatism.
To day, Palm Sunday we were unfortunate enough of being     29 [Written in back/right margin]
deprived from the blessing of Palms, for the simple reason that we had none. Living in a desert where there is not a green branch for sixty miles around, it is rather sad.   Two weeks ago, palms or evergreens were asked for from Pincher Creek, an answer was received that we would have them … but nothing arrived.   There was a large Congregation this morning at both masses.
Our choir is preparing some fine music for easter, three protestant gentlemen have offered their services and talents for the occasion.
It is Easter Sunday and never before has our church contained more people than at High Mass this morning.. It so happened that the Anglican church was closed last week, the minister having left for British Columbia.
Consequently most of the Anglicans came to the Catholic Church.    The people in town had learned that an exellent [sic] programm [sic] of music had been prepared… three violins and two brass instruments were added to the music of our powerful organ, so that it formed a kind orchestra worth hearing.

Hence the great affluence. The rev & Father Fouquet sung the High Mass while father VanTighem aided the choir and preached the sermon.
A surprise to all, was the Szlavonian band, conducting the members of Szlavonian Union to church. These enterprising men about twelve in number, bought themselves new instruments, engaged a teacher and practice twice a week. This is only since a few months and to our great surprise they came through the town, walking to the church and playing joyous Tunes. All praise to them. The collection in church to day ammounted [sic] to $19.75
April 5.t [written in front/left margin] a dispatch arrived here yesterday bringing the sad news that the rev Father Leduc has received the last Sacraments.

May 9 [written in front/left margin] Last night we opened the May Devotions and everyday at Four O’Clock in the afternoon we will say the H. Rosary, Hymns, the Litany followed by the Benediction of the Bl. Sacram.. [sic]
“ 15 [written in front/left margin] Yesterday, ascension day, took place in the Church the first Communion of Ten of our schoolchildren Immediately before High-Mass another ceremony took place; It was the Solemn baptism of our little Negro boy Howard Porter from Great Falls.    This boy is about 12 years old and desired very much to be baptized and received in the Catholic Church. He wrote to his parents and even, obtained a Pass on the railway, from Mr. Barclay, to go ad see his parents in the Falls, for the sole purpose of asking them this favor. Of course we knew not that this
