Chapter XXVIII Red River to Colony to Puget Sound, History of the Pacific Northwest Oregon and Washington 1889

Document Type: Published Material
Date of Document(s): 1999
Date Range Start : 1841
Date Range End: 1842
Comments: Seems to be taken primarily from Sir George Simpson's Journals around the world. One note, there is a mention of the the guide deserting the party in the mountains as being "a half breed of some education" this is an error from reading Simpson. Simpson refers to Sinclair as a "Half breed of some education" as Sinclair was educated in Edinburgh, but the guide referred to as abandoning the party is Jemmy Jock Bird, not Sinclair.
